In furtherance of our goal of minimizing environmental impact and that of providing products and systems that are safe and of minimized cost to the environment, we have instituted a Green Procurement Policy.
Previously we adapted production facilities to minimize their burden on the environment as part of enhancing our focus on environmental protection measures, yet we further see the need to answer the demand for corporate management to ensure that products themselves reflect environmental concerns. While LECIP has pursued environmental conservation up to the present, as of this time we have instituted a policy of environmentally-responsive products, which will be pursued by each LECIP corporate group. The policy is limited not just to this group, but the priority given to environmental responsiveness in the purchase of parts, materials and products is now heightened in the implementation of the Green Procurement policy.
The corporate administration has made environmental issues a high-level topic, and as part of the pursuit of environmental conservation it ensures that all facets of corporate activity, including product development, production and sales, reflect those concerns, which include those of global warming, reduced resource consumption, recycling, and the control of harmful substances.
